It aims to establish a world-class, patient-centric healthcare ecosystem in Uttarakhand & emerge as a centre of excellence for quality healthcare and medical research in Uttarakhand and India. The project’s mandate was to create a timeless, user-friendly facility using local materials, sustainable practices, and cutting-edge design principles.
Rethinking sustainable practices
Completed in October 2023, this expansive 800-Bed Super-specialty Hospital and other buildings including the 150-Seat Medical College spans over 1.5 million square feet, meticulously planned to deliver an unmatched healthcare experience to all end-users. This project has been designed with a view to provide highest quality patient care, establish state-of-the-art infrastructure with the best possible clinical & nursing care expertise, and, to provide quality medical education to nurture skilled Medical Practitioners.
At the heart of this projects’ design philosophy is a steadfast commitment to sustainability. The architects prioritized the use of local materials to reduce the project’s carbon footprint and support regional economies. This approach not only underscores environmental responsibility but also promotes community engagement and resilience.
The hospital’s open floor plan exemplifies spatial efficiency and ease of navigation, enhancing accessibility for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff alike. This design choice fosters a welcoming atmosphere that prioritizes patient comfort and operational efficiency.
Healing with nature
Biophilic design principles permeate every aspect of this project buildings specially the Hospital, emphasizing the importance of connecting patients with nature for enhanced healing outcomes. Strategically positioned large windows flood the interiors with natural light, creating a seamless integration with outdoor landscapes known to accelerate patient recovery. Furthermore, the use of healing colors, meticulously selected based on principles of color psychology, contributes to a calming and therapeutic environment.
Throughout the project’s development, meticulous attention was paid to ensure each space within the hospital serves both functional and aesthetic purposes. Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Renascent Consultants demonstrated resilience and adaptability, overcoming obstacles to deliver the project on schedule. This achievement underscores their expertise and dedication in navigating complex healthcare architecture projects.

The USP of this project is that this happens to be a Teaching Hospital and unlike other facilities of similar nature, it has the intent and infrastructure of any modern contemporary private healthcare facility of this scale.
Furthermore, this healthcare facility is designed for the Gold-rating from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and has met specific criteria related to sustainability and environmental performance.
